My success plan for this course is to try and stay on top of all my assignments. I don’t want to leave everything for the last minute and then catch myself needing help and for it to be to late. I am still trying to get the hang of everything but I hope it all works out for the best. Writing has never been my strongest and I hope this class can help me better myself in that perspective. Getting rid of that writers block is one of my main goals, learning how to structure my essays, staying in the main idea and not getting off topic are also some of the things I want to master. In order to achieve my goals I have planed to ask as many questions as possible read and do research on my own, and make sure I understand the topic before moving on to something different I feel this class is going to help me with all my other classes as well, and I plan to be successful and finish this class with a B since I am planning on transferring to UTRGV and want my GPA to be as high as possible. Me being satisfied with a B does not mean I will not aim for an A.

My name is Janeth Martinez, and this is my first semester in college. I am not the best writer, specially when I am writing about my life. I find it difficult to put my thoughts into words. I know I must get out of my comfort zone and try my best, and what a better way to do that than with this essay. It’s the first of many more to come, I know that for sure! But I am all up for the challenge and I will try my best to improve my writing. I always have an open mind for new ideas or strategies that will help better myself. I appreciate when someone corrects me when I’m wrong because it all comes back to what we are all here for “learning”.

            Some of my favorite hobbies include playing volleyball, baking (I love to bake), doing arts and crafts, and spectating at the racetrack. Time just goes by so fast when I find myself doing one of the mentioned things.

            Like I mentioned before this is my first semester in college and I am new to everything that comes with it. Some of my concerns for this class have got to be overlooking or not being aware of an assignment, that can result in me turning it in late or not turning it in at all. Canvas is about to become my best friend and I want to feel comfortable and knowledgeable navigating it. That will help me reach my goals for this class, which is understand the material, get good grades on my assignments and not fall behind. I feel I am more comfortable and learn better when I do things hands on and with an example, or not necessary and example but maybe a quick explanation of what is expected.

Writing is important any way you see it. It is a an essential skill for learning, it helps us transmit to others and to ourselves. I feel writing goes hand in hand with reading the more you read the more you experience writing and expose yourself to vocabulary. Writing can consist of many things a specific topic, informational, to explain, to entertain and many more examples, but all together it is all categorized as writing. people write for different reasons some people simply write for pleasure others write for school and even after you are done with school jobs also require writing. It is a necessary skill that you will use for a life time in my opinion.
